Meditech 2024: The Fair Promoting Advancement and Excellence in Healthcare

• More than 250 exhibitors will showcase cutting-edge advancements and technology for transforming the health sector in Colombia and Latin America.

Bogotá, June 2024. From July 9th to 12th, the 8th edition of the International Health Fair, Meditech, organized by the Colombian Association of Hospitals and Clinics (ACHC) and the International Business and Exhibition Center, Corferias, will take place. This year, under the slogan "Building the Future of Health," it will feature more than 250 exhibitors from over 15 countries and around 40 academic activities.

Ana Garibello, the project director at Corferias, highlights that for this edition, the key players and representatives from the most important institutions in the health sector in Latin America will bring the latest industry innovations. "Meditech has established itself as the business hub of the industry in the region, offering a comprehensive showcase of products and services related to medical and clinical technology."

The showcase in its 8th edition will bring together industries from various areas, including medical technology, digital health, clinical laboratory technologies, consumer products and goods, orthopedic technology, and innovations in medical devices, among others.

Meditech is known for being a space for education and knowledge updates for various health sector agents. Juan Carlos Giraldo Valencia, General Director of the Colombian Association of Hospitals and Clinics (ACHC) and strategic ally of the fair, states, “Once again, the fair will be the meeting point for the health sector in 2024, providing first-hand access to the latest innovations for health care and attention. Additionally, in the academic spaces, current topics in hospital management and health systems will be discussed, providing technical tools to attendees to advance the transformation of their organizations.”

2024 Components

This year, for the second time, the Healthtech Startup Park will be presented, providing a space to showcase innovative and disruptive solutions based on blockchain, IoT, genomics, robotics, virtual reality, and augmented reality.

Additionally, the Colombian Association of Hospitals and Clinics (ACHC) is organizing must-attend academic events within the fair. On July 9th, the 3rd Symposium of Successful Health Solutions from Allied Hospital Sector Entities will take place. This space will present innovations, experiences, and success stories developed and implemented by renowned medical industry brands and hospital sector suppliers that have impacted patient care outcomes.

On July 10th and 11th, the 15th International Congress of Hospitals and Clinics will be held, an academic setting that will bring together government authorities, hospital and clinic directors from Colombia, Central, and Latin America, as well as representatives from universities and health science training centers.

The event will also feature notable sector leaders such as Carlos Alvaréz, epidemiologist and WHO advisor; Munir Jalil, Executive Director and Chief Economist of BTG Pactual for the Andean region; Awer Kham, Global Leader of Health Technology at KPMG; and Priscila Andrade, Director of Health Economics and Market Access Latam at Johnson & Johnson MedTech, who will share their knowledge and experiences at this important event.

Under the guidance of national and international experts, topics such as the responsible implementation of artificial intelligence in healthcare, the impact of climate change on the sector, the future of the health system in Colombia, global challenges for health leaders, and what the next pandemic might be will be addressed.

The congress will conclude with the presentation of the 7th National Safe Hospital Award by ACHC, an initiative aimed at promoting and highlighting continuous work in quality processes by both affiliated and non-affiliated institutions, enabling them to achieve excellence in safety in care, benefiting the Colombian population and the health system.
