Second most important fair of the health sector for Latin America will arrive in July

The sixth edition of Meditech, the International Health Fair, will be held in Corferias from July 3rd to the 6th. The purpose is to show the latest advantages of the industry and allow the main players in the sector to strength their commercial relations with national and international suppliers, distributors and representatives of this important item of the Colombian economy.

Juan Carlos Giraldo Valencia, general director of the Colombian Association of Hospitals and Clinics (ACHC) announced that Meditech "will be an opportunity to analyze the international views of the health sector and know the evolution of the technological profile of the world's industry and thus be able to compare it with the one that Colombia has today. We are a window to see how the technology of the industry is moving".

He added that "during the fair we will also show the main learnings, lessons, innovations, new technologies and challenges for the future. We will have a complete sample of commercial products and services besides an experiential area where visitors can interact with the equipment and technology brought by exhibitors from all over the world".

Proof of this will be the Experimental Center of High Hospital Technology (CEATH), which will recreate three environments at a real scale: an admissions area, a surgery room and a recovery room. Visitors can interact with the equipment, supplies and machinery used in these areas.

Likewise, the fair will present to its attendees a space where they will find pharma-hospital products; a sample of international exhibitors including Germany, Austria, Italy, Israel, Hong Kong, Taiwan, China and Beijing; hospital architecture topics and medical and surgical equipment.

Roberto Vergara, director of international business of Corferias, said that “Meditech is looking forward to become the hub event or the reference in the health’s sector of the region, since its experience has allowed it to become the second most important fair in Latin America”.

During the fair it will be held the XIII International Congress of Hospitals and Clinics, which will take place on July 4th and 5th in Corferias’ main auditorium, an ideal space to discuss and learn about the changes and priorities of the health sector, as well as the future of hospital management in the world, quality, service delivery network, the use of information technologies and data to strengthen health services and add value to health care, among other topics of interest.

Marcela Sanchez, project manager of the fair, said "for this edition we expect the participation of exhibitors and visitors such as professionals of the sector, managers of health institutions, government entities, scientific societies, academia, service providers and specialized products, among others. It will be the ideal scenario to strengthen national and international commercial relations between suppliers, distributors and representatives of the sector".

She added that during Meditech it will be held Odontotech’s V edition, a specialized odontological salon located in pavilion 4. "This space will allow visitors to find the latest trends in dental equipment and furniture, materials for dental laboratory, instrumental, oral hygiene products, services, education, biosafety and information technology".

This scenario will allow professionals of the sector to be updated about the tendencies in dental technology from the hand of international specialists and can give a glance to the last equipments, supplies, products and services in dental matter.

2016 figures

The Colombian Association of Hospitals and Clinics (ACHC) and the International Center for Business and Exhibitions, Corferias, organizers of the event, recalled that the previous edition of Meditech had more than 180 exhibitors, 11,000 professional visitors and 5,200 square meters of exhibition, in which 9,873 professional buyers and 253 international visitors also participated.
